Intermediate
This level is for people who already have a reasonable working knowledge
of English. You have done English at school and may have attended lots of courses since then. You know that
you can 'survive' quite well, but you also know that you make mistakes in grammar and sometimes use the wrong
word, expression and tense. You would like to improve your fluency and expand your range of vocabulary and
knowledge in speaking and writing. You would also like to learn more about how to help yourself in terms
of becoming an independent learner whilst living or staying in UK.
All tuition concentrates
on analysing and correcting grammatical mistakes, improving pronunciation and expanding vocabulary. We will introduce
you to a number of techniques and web-based materials (podcasts and interactive sites) which will enable you to help you
become a better language learner.
We encourage and give advice to those at intermediate level to initiate formal
study towards the University of Cambridge Examinations: First Certificate English (FCE). An intensive exam
preparation courses can be designed by Exclusive English.
Advanced
You feel reasonably
comfortable in speaking, reading, listening and writing English. You have visited England and have studied
English since school days. However, you now want and need to increase your understanding and knowledge of British
society and culture and become more fluent.
Tuition for this level is fast-paced and concentrates on the nuances
of the language, encompassing cultural differences, social etiquette, history, idioms and humour. We cover topics
such as writing 'thank you' letters, interview techniques, presentation practice, job applications and cv's, replying
to formal invitations and writing more expansive e-mails and reports.
We encourage advanced level clients to
initiate formal study towards the University of Cambridge Examinations: Cambridge Advanced English (CAE),
Cambridge Proficiency (CPE) and/or IELTS. An intensive examination preparation course can be designed by Exclusive
English.
