INTERMEDIATE
This level is for people
who already have a reasonable working knowledge of English. You have done English at school and may have attended
lots of courses since then. You know that you can 'survive' quite well, but you also know that you make
mistakes in grammar and sometimes use the wrong word, expression and tense. You would like to improve your
fluency and expand your range of vocabulary and knowledge in speaking and writing. You would also like to
learn more about how to help yourself in terms of becoming an independent learner whilst living or staying in UK.
One-to-One, English on a Steam Train and 3-day Intensive London concentrate on correcting grammatical mistakes, improving pronunciation and expanding vocabulary. We will
also introduce you to a number of techniques and materials which will enable you to help you become a better language
learner. We
encourage and give advice to those at intermediate level to initiate formal study towards the University of Cambridge
Examinations: First Certificate English (FCE).
ADVANCED
You
feel reasonably comfortable in speaking, reading, listening and writing English. You have studied quite a bit
in England and at home as a student. However, you now want to increase your understanding and knowledge of society and
the culture. One-to-One, Secrets of London Walks, English on a Steam Train, Presentation Skills and 5-day Intensive Herefordshire concentrate on the nuances of the language and encompass culture, history, idioms and humour. We also cover topics
such as writing 'thank you' letters, job applications and cv's, replying to formal invitations and writing more
expansive e-mails. We encourage advanced level clients to initiate formal
study towards the University of Cambridge Examinations: Cambridge Advanced English (CAE),
Cambridge Proficiency (CPE) and/or IELTS.
